Featured Dataset: A comprehensive Human CRISPR-Cas9 Screen of the ubiquitin pathway by Hundley FV et al. (2021)

Our latest BioGRID ORCS CRISPR Database update adds a new screen from the study, "A comprehensive phenotypic CRISPR-Cas9 screen of the ubiquitin pathway uncovers roles of ubiquitin ligases in mitosis" by Hundley FV et al. (Molecular Cell, 2021). In this study, chemical-genetic CRISPR screens were carried out to identify human Ubiquitin-Proteasome System (UPS) genes, including 629 E3 ligases and 56 DUBs, whose knockout led to increased or decreased resistance to specific compounds. These compounds targeted various biological processes, including proteostasis, cell signaling and metabolism, thereby indicating potential roles of the UPS hit genes in diverse cellular processes.

A special thanks to the authors Hundley FV, Sanvisens Delgado N, Marin HC, Carr KL, Tian R, and Toczyski DP and the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of California San Francisco.
