Introduction of Proximity label-MS and Proximity label-Western Evidence Codes

For the 3.2.102 update, the BioGRID has introduced two new experimental evidence codes for in vivo biochemical interactions, termed Proximity label MS (mass spectrometry) and Proximity label-Western. In light of the rapid growth of interaction data generated using proximity labeling, we have assigned the associated evidence codes to distinguish these data types from conventional affinity capture experiments that are followed by mass spectrometry or western blots. The datasets reported in Roux K.J. et al. (2012) (Pubmed: 22412018) and Rhee H.W. et al (2013) (Pubmed: 23371551) have been entered with the proximity label codes.

Definitions for all evidence codes used in BioGRID can be found in our help wiki at BioGRID Help and Support Resources.
